Hockey Centre Update
"We are very pleased to announced that the Minister for the Department of Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development and Local Government has finally signed the approval for funding of the Centre Upgrade. The Association will be meeting with UWS and Mr Bradbury in the next few weeks to finalise arrangements to enable the pitch replacement works to commence. UWS will be required to sign funding contracts but based upon our on-going discussions with UWS we are confident, given the approval, that the water pitch should be ready for the 2012 season. This is tremendous news for the Association and more updates will be provided over the coming weeks.

Nepean Hockey Association AGM
In line with the Nepean Hockey Association Constitution, Nominations for all positions in the Nepean Hockey Association for the 2012 season are hereby called.
Nominations are open from today 14th September 2011 and close on Friday 30th September 2011. Nominations received via email after 11:59pm on Friday 30th September 2011, or after last mail on Friday 30th September 2011 (Australia Post) will not be accepted and will be disregarded.
Nominations will be voted on at the Annual General Meeting for the Nepean Hockey Association to be held on Monday 21st November 2011 – the AGM agenda and notice (again, in line with the Constitution) will be provided no later than 24 October 2011.
For our Association to grow in the Nepean area, we really need people to volunteer to take on positions in our Association.
If you or any of your club members are interested in nominating for any position in the Nepean Hockey Association, please complete the attached nomination form and either scan and email it back to secretary@nepeanhockey.com.au or send the completed form to PO Box 563, Kingswood NSW 2747.

Although the weather was not ideal, our 40th Anniversay celebrations over the weekend were a unqualified success. Thanks to Geoff & all his calls & txts rounding everyone up :) Also thanks to Macquarie Uni for showing up on a pretty ordinary day weather wise.

(1st Grade Men play Sunday 27th March Vs Panthers in the "Foundation Cup". Both clubs are celebrating their 40th year and are the only two clubs who still remain from 1972.
Working Bee
On Saturday 26th March at 9am we will do a bit of a clean up / weed of the fields. If you are avaliable please come down with a few tools to help out

Under 13's Muster Day
Nepean Hockey Association is calling for all eligible U13 boys and girls to attend a muster day in preparation for the upcoming Hockey Representative Season.
When: Sunday 6th March
Time: 8.30am – 10.30 am
Where: Western Sydney Hockey Fields (UWS)
What to bring:
· Yourself (and mum or dad)
· Your hockey stick
· Shin pads
· Mouthguard
· $5 (to help pay for the field hire)

For new players it is best to attend the registration afternoon to size uniforms etc.

AGM
Emu Plains Hockey's AGM is Tuesday 15th Feb at Emu Sports Club.
This is where we make decisions for the clubs benefit for the next season, so if there is anything that you think can help our club your input is required.
We will be looking for people to fill the executive positions, coaching, managing, publicity (website) and many more.
We also decide on what our members will need to pay for the next season to play and where we will spend any money raised.
So all are both welcome and needed to come along. We do have a large club so would like to see all there.
If you can't make it and want to do something or have an input please email me so that I can take it to the meeting on your behalf.
Look forward to seeing as many as possible there, as this is for each of you.

Please note that Nepean Hockey Association are currently calling for all players interested in trialling for selection in the u18s Girls Representative Team to attend a training session scheduled for Sunday 28 November 2010 commencing at 9am at the Hockey Fields.
Note that the tournament commences in March 2011, hence the need to get training & selection processes started so early.

Grand Final Update.
Congratulations to the U17's, 3rd & 1st Grade Women and the 2nd Grade Men for making the Grand Final this coming weekend.
NO ALCOHOL is to be brought into the Hockey Centre. Please read this note.
As a Club, we will be required to man the BBQ at some stage on the day. If you can please help out, it would be appreciated. Emu has been allocated 9.30am - 11.30am as our shift.

Yesterday at the Hockey Centre an announcement was made by David Bradbury that the hockey fields would be upgraded if the ALP were elected at the forth coming election. This is fantastic news.

Last night at a Hockey NSW mediation meeting an agreement was reached between WDWHA (Women's Association) & PDHA (Men's Association) to combine. This will happen in the next couple of weeks.
Details are still to be sorted and released, but should be in the next week or so.
It has been a long , hard road to get to this point and I would thank club members who have supported our Club's position to get the best for Hockey in our local area.

2009 Premiers!
Our U17’s played in our local PDHA Grand Final narrowly defeating Panthers with 20 seconds remaining in extra time.
Also, our 1st Reserve ladies won their Grand Final defeating Rooty Hill 2-1.
Congratulations to all players involved and thanks to all our club mates who turned out to cheer them home.

Congratulations to Brenton Osborne who was a member of the NSW U16 Mens Indoor Hockey Team that won the U16 Mens National Indoor Invitational Championships today. NSW defeated Victoria 4-3 in the final with Brenton scoring a goal.

Congratulations to Jack Quinn, Tarrin Watson, Mitchell Hanrahan, Ty Pieper and Brenton Osborne who were members of the Penrith District U17 Indoor Team that won the B Division State Championship today. Penrith defeated Sydney (2) 12-4 in emphatic style to claim the Championship. This follows on from our victory last year in C Division. To cap off a wonderful day Mitchell Hanrahan was selected in the U18 State Indoor Team for 2008. We'll done Mitch!!
